Merricks Bethel to Present at GEOINT Conference

Management of Big LiDAR Data is the Topic

Aurora, CO Sept. 25, 2012 Merricks Matt Bethel, GISP, Director of Technology will present at the GEOINT 2012 Symposium to be held 10/8 10/11 in Orlando, Florida. Bethels Tech Talk Theater presentation will be held at the Innovation Pavilion on the exhibit floor at 12 PM on Thursday, October 11th. The talk will focus on the management of Big Data specifically light detection and ranging (LiDAR) data, both linear and Geiger mode. Hell introduce a revolutionary technology for rendering unlimited amounts of LiDAR point cloud data in real time and at full resolution.

This game-changing concept will not only provide users with instant access to all of their LiDAR data, but will also open up many new possibilities for untapped applications that have never been considered. Knowledge of the complete 3D space will now be instantly available in full detail for effective planning and decision making, said Bethel.

According to Bethel, LiDAR point clouds can now be visualized in 3D full resolution with unbounded 3D navigation. The technology focuses on unparalleled real time rendering speed and limitless access to massive LiDAR datasets. The technology requires nothing more than a standard laptop running a desktop application.
