3D Laser Mapping and IGI have announced the first ever StreetMapper USA User Conference. Organized in conjunction with partners GeoDigital and Terrametrix the inaugural event will take place on the 10th February 2011 at the Astor Crowne Plaza in New Orleans and will follow on directly from the worlds premier LiDAR event the International LiDAR Mapping Forum (ILMF), which is being held on the 7-9th February at the same venue.
Designed to attract both existing and potential users of mobile mapping systems the StreetMapper USA User Conference will feature a range of presentations including keynotes and technical presentations from 3D Laser Mapping and IGI and user papers from around the world. The conference will also provide the perfect opportunity for delegates to meet with laser scanning specialists and network with mobile mapping professionals from around the world.

StreetMapper 360, which is a joint development between UK based 3D Laser Mapping and German based guidance and navigation specialist IGI, has been specifically designed for the rapid 3D mapping of highways, runways, railways, infrastructure and buildings. Using vehicle-mounted lasers offering a 360-degree field of view StreetMapper enables high precision mapping to a range of 300 metres, a capacity of 300,000 measurements per second per sensor and recorded accuracies in independent real world projects of better than 10 millimetres.
Travelling at speeds of up to 50 miles per hour StreetMapper can capture every detail along the highway corridor including barriers, ditches, overhead wires and building facades, helping surveyors to create highly accurate 3D computer models for planning, maintenance and incident management.
