Spar Point Research Announces Keynote Speakers for 6th Annual Conference, SPAR 2009

3D Imaging Conference to Feature 3D Laser Scanning Boot Camp, Mobile Mapping and Scanning for Infrastructure Projects, 3D Capture and Processing for Creating BIM Deliverables, and Security Planning/Forensic Applications

Danvers, Mass. (March 9, 2009) Spar Point Research announced keynote presenters for its sixth annual conference, SPAR 2009, to be held March 30-April 1, 2009, at the Hyatt Regency Denver in Colorado. The SPAR 2009 three-day technical conference brings the project interests of 3D positioning and imaging professionals together to learn about advances in 3D imaging for design, construction and infrastructure; to share best practices; and to discuss future opportunities for the technology.

Hans Hess, president, Hanesco AG, and former Leica Geosystems CEO, will present Geomatics on the Move. Charles Matta, director of Federal Buildings and Modernization, General Services Administration (GSA), will answer the question Why 3D Scanning? in a session that details the GSAs Building Information Modeling (BIM) program. Daniel Livecchi of the U.S. Secret Service, and president, IAFSM, will discuss Urban Modeling for National Special Security Events. John Copple, CEO, Sanborn, will present Applications of 3D Imaging, including opportunities utilizing mobile scanning. Dr. Nelly Robles Garcia, director, Archaeological Zone, Monte Alban, will present Strategic Planning for Digital Heritage Preservation.
