Denver, CO – Oct. 25, 2012 Merrick & Company, a geospatial, surveying, and engineering firm serving the Americas, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its subsidiary, Merrick Advanced Photogrammetry of the Americas (MAPA), in serving the geospatial markets in Mexico, Central, and South America. The subsidiary was incorporated in Guadalajara, Mexico in 2002. Originally established to provide photogrammetry and LiDAR production support, MAPA now successfully competes within the Latin American region for photogrammetry, LiDAR, hyperspectral, satellite imagery and other geospatial software type projects. MAPAs Mexico offices have also expanded to Mexico City and Victoria.
The geospatial market in all of Latin America was exposed to Merrick once we created MAPA over ten years ago. Our strategy is to bring new remote sensing technologies to this region of the world that clients need and that local companies do not have, states Brian Raber CMS, GISP, GLS, and President of MAPA, and a vice president of Merrick.
Since entering Mexico and the Central and South American markets, Merrick has grown its global footprint to serve a wide range of geospatial, engineering, and architecture needs in countries including Sierra Leone, Guyana, Azerbaijan, Denmark, Singapore, the Bahamas, Guatemala, Australia, Canada, Trinidad Tobago, Colombia, Argentina, and El Salvador.
In responding to todays changing market, we have extended our reach to serve the global demands of the geospatial needs of defense, intelligence, local governments, energy, water resources, and transportation clients, said Gary Outlaw, GISP, and also a vice president of Merrick. Its imperative that companies have the capacity to serve their clients on a global basis.
Merricks geospatial market team recently attended the GEOINT conference, 10/8 10/11 in Orlando, Florida where Merrick presented its Global LiDAR Alliance for worldwide data acquisition. The geospatial market team will also be attending the International LiDAR Mapping Forum, 2/11/2013 2/13/2013.
