Leica ADS40 Features 5-Centimeter Spatial Resolution

Leica Geosystems GIS & Mappings ADS40 Airborne Digital Sensor now delivers 5-centimeter spatial resolution imagery.

Atlanta, Georgia, USA – 25 May 2004 This marks a significant improvement from the ADS40s previously published accuracy level of 10-15 centimeter spatial resolution. With this capability, the ADS40 strengthens its standing as the leading large-format digital sensor on the market.

The improved spatial resolution results of the ADS40 enable users to:
Achieve higher accuracy in large-scale mapping applications
Extract more detailed information
Digitally match the best resolution possible with film

Leica Geosystems is committed to continually improving our product line in order to exceed customer expectations, said Wendy Watson, Vice President of Product Management and Marketing for Leica Geosystems GIS & Mapping. With this latest enhancement, ADS40 users will notice more detailed, accurate imagery with a much sharper resolution than ever before.

The ADS40 is an all-digital airborne sensor that requires no chemical film processing or scanning. Users collect aerial imagery and return from a flight mission ready to process and archive their digital data. Its innovative line scanner principle (capturing imagery looking forwards, backwards and nadir from an aircraft) provides wide area coverage. It also simultaneously delivers black and white, color and false color imagery.

The ADS40s 5-centimeter spatial resolution capability was announced at the annual ASPRS Conference in Denver, Colorado, USA.
