Senior vice president and business unit manager named to board; promoting and advancing geospatial industry.
Fairfax, VA—August 21, 2023 – Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that Senior Vice President and Business Unit Manager Amar Nayegandhi, GISP, ASPRS, has been elected to serve on the board of directors for the Management Association for Private Photogrammetric Surveyors (MAPPS). MAPPS is a national organization dedicated to promoting and advancing economic opportunity, education, and professionalism for its member firms and the geospatial community. Nayegandhi will serve on the board through 2025.
Nayegandhi has nearly 25 years of experience and joined Dewberry in 2011. He leads the geospatial and technology services (GTS) group at Dewberry and provides program oversight for the execution of all remote sensing projects for federal, state, and local clients across the country. He is skilled in topographic and topobathymetric lidar data acquisition and processing, and has presented his research and technological findings at more than 100 international conferences and technical workshops, including the United Nations World Geospatial Information Congress (UNWGIC) in Deqing, China.

Nayegandhi earned a master’s degree in computer science from the University of South Florida (2001) and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Mumbai (1998). He is a member of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), where he previously served as director of the Lidar Division.
