Dallas (Oct. 21, 2020) — Woolpert has hired Jessica Goodell, PE, as director of portfolio optimization for the firm’s strategic consulting group. Goodell holds degrees in mechanical and civil engineering and has coordinated large, multidiscipline architecture, engineering and consulting teams to engage with clients focused on functional adequacy, condition, resiliency, investment and property transactions.
Goodell has extensive experience with facility assessment software, data collection and analysis, forensic investigations for various facility types and managing a range of asset management needs. Her most recent position was as a senior project manager at a large engineering firm, where she executed custom facility condition assessments and functional adequacy engagements for school districts, colleges and municipalities. She said third-party assessments are often crucial for clients to make effective, unbiased and defensible decisions.
“Public and private agencies across the nation are dealing with critically aging infrastructure and not enough money to maintain it, so strategically allocating funds becomes extremely important,” Goodell said. “Accurately assessing the condition of facilities is the only way to know how much money to spend and where to spend it during the next budget cycle.”
She said she chose to join Woolpert to occupy a more strategic, dynamic role where she can provide next-level support that will drive high-level, innovative decision-making. Goodell said Woolpert enables consultants to effect real, positive change for their clients.
“I have always been very client focused and I value my long-term client relationships,” Goodell said. “At Woolpert, I want to learn how to identify opportunities in the marketplace and to develop a business line to give my clients greater control of their facility and asset management.”
Woolpert Advisory Services Market Director Christina Parr said Goodell’s impressive experience, combined with her focus on client success, will elevate the firm’s facility condition assessment capabilities.
“If you ask anyone who’s worked with her, it’s clear that Jessica’s acumen and influence in this field are second to none,” Parr said. “I look forward to working with her and to seeing how she helps our strategic consulting team continue to grow and excel.”
