The firm will analyze 3-D elevation data requirements and benefits for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the U.S. Geological Survey
Fairfax, VAOctober 4, 2017 – Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has been selected by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrations (NOAA) National Geodetic Survey to provide geospatial services for its study on the requirements and benefits for 3-D elevation data nationwide. The study is also funded in part by NOAAs Office of Coast Survey and the U.S. Geological Surveys 3-D Elevation Program.
Dewberry will expand upon information gathered in 2012 for the National Enhanced Elevation Assessment to include U.S. nearshore and offshore regions and address inland bathymetric needs. A geodatabase will be developed to include information on the analyses and assessments of different program implementation scenarios based on benefit-cost ratio and return on investment calculations addressing different geographies. Customized geospatial tools will also be created to analyze the requirements and benefits information, and to evaluate implementation scenarios that address user requirements, technology considerations, and risk.
