Arithmetica Releases Pointfuse Software at Intergeo

Shepperton Studios, London, 10 September 2014 – Pointfuse, the automated point cloud processing software from Arithmetica, will be released as standalone software at Intergeo 2014. Offering a fast, precise, yet flexible way of converting laser scanner point clouds into highly accurate vector models, Pointfuse was previously only available as Software as a Service (SaaS).

In addition to the paid version of Pointfuse, a free viewer and iOS APP will also available that allows point cloud data to be converted to a vector model that can be visualized as 3D or 2D.

The Pointfuse software solutions will be available for the first time at Intergeo, the conference and trade fair for Geodesy, Geoinformation and Land Management, being held in Berlin 7-9 October 2014.

We first demonstrated Pointfuse at Intergeo last year, and after trials and customer feedback we now have tried and tested software ready for worldwide distribution, says Mark Senior, Pointfuse Business Development Manager. We have reached a point in our development where we are confident with the functionality, reliability and durability of the software and with its ease of use. Over the next year we will be listening closely to customer feedback to map out ongoing development that will include refining the softwares unique capabilities in object and feature extraction.

Pointfuse is a powerful modelling engine that gives professionals an astonishingly fast, precise and flexible way of converting the vast point cloud datasets generated by laser scanners or photogrammetry into high fidelity vector models. Designed for engineers, architects and construction professionals, Pointfuse uses advanced statistical techniques to create vector models which can then be manipulated using any industry-standard CAD system.

Uniquely, Pointfuse is fully mobile compatible, and can process data from mobile scanners as easily and quickly as from terrestrial or airborne systems and its results can be output and used on standard handheld mobile devices for use in the field.

Pointfuse is also the first software to offer truly automatic feature extraction. It automatically identifies features such as power-lines, bridges, gantries and crash barriers within the point cloud and extracts them within a matter of minutes.
