Nottingham, 20 November 2013 – 3D Laser Mapping, the company behind the worlds most accurate mobile mapping system StreetMapper, has signed a reseller agreement with Orbit Geospatial Technologies. Orbit GT products turn raw mobile mapping data into manageable, easy to use, GIS-integrated content that empowers companies to utilise mobile mapping information across an organisation. This agreement will allow 3D Laser Mapping to offer a truly end to end mobile mapping solution including state of the art laser scanning hardware, advanced navigation and positioning systems, data capture devices as well as worldwide support and training.
Peter Bonne, VP Business Development of Orbit GT, commented Mobile Mapping is a technology that is changing the face of mapping and GIS forever. Systems such as StreetMapper can capture vast amounts of geographically referenced data, at speed and with enviable accuracies. The only potential barrier to use is how to gain benefit from this data. Serving vast volumes of real life data, Orbit Mobile Mapping products empower companies and organisations to embrace and embed Mobile Mapping content in every day work.
Dr Graham Hunter, founder and Chairman of 3D Laser Mapping, added The training and support we provide to our user base is fundamental to the successful deployment of our mobile mapping systems around the world. Being able to offer a suite of advanced software solutions that facilitate the use of mobile mapping data across an organisation is crucial for the continued growth of mobile mapping applications.
Orbit GT Mobile Mapping products allow for the viewing and management of data captured by systems such as StreetMapper. With tools for measurement, feature extraction, GIS Integration and overlay, organisation wide deployment and sharing as well as publishing, embedding and processing of mobile mapping content Orbit GT solutions are used to realise the true potential of data captured by mobile mapping systems.
3D Laser Mapping offers a range of mobile mapping solutions including the worlds most accurate system StreetMapper. Specifically designed for the rapid 3D mapping of highways, runways, railways, infrastructure and buildings StreetMapper uses vehicle-mounted lasers offering a 360-degree field of view. StreetMapper enables high precision mapping to a range of 300 metres, a capacity of 550,000 measurements per second per sensor and recorded accuracies in independent real world projects of better than 10 millimetres. 3D Laser Mapping has also recently launched to market a brand new mapping grade system V-Mapper.
