Bentley Announces Two Commercial Innovations for Software as a Service

Aligning for Advantage by Expediting Comprehensive Portfolio

LONDON The Year in Infrastructure 2013 Conference 29 October 2013 Bentley Systems, Incorporated, the leading company dedicated to providing comprehensive software solutions for sustaining infrastructure, today announced two commercial innovations that will extend the reach of Bentleys comprehensive portfolio and expedite access for Bentley users through provisioning software as a service. SELECT Open Access enables greater project agility through unrestricted access to Bentleys portfolio of information modeling applications unencumbered by conventional software procurement cycles. Bentleys new MANAGEservices offering facilitates the provisioning, rapid deployment, and operation of Bentleys ProjectWise collaboration services and AssetWise asset information management services in a hybrid cloud services environment.

SELECT Open Access

SELECT Open Access is a no–cost opt-in program for existing SELECT subscribers providing:

access to any Bentley information modeling application at any time, by any user,
quarterly term licenses, availed automatically for usage exceeding subscribers perpetual license pools, and
Bentley LEARNservices for such incremental usage, to speed proficiency for new users.

Bentley Systems COO Malcolm Walter said, Project delivery cycle times are shortening and are already out of sync with processes for buying perpetual licenses. When project team members meet a new information modeling requirement, thats when they need appropriate software to be immediately available to maintain project quality and schedule performance. For over a decade, user organizations in Bentleys Enterprise License Subscription (ELS) program have had full access to our portfolio, without incremental licensing requirements, and theyve told us how well this aligns with their project needs. For instance, ELS subscriber sites on average take advantage of over 50 percent more Bentley brands for information modeling and analysis than comparable non-ELS sites increasing B/IM comprehensiveness across disciplines for improved project quality. Now, with SELECT Open Access, we can bring the same benefits to every user in every subscriber organization. As a result, every project can now be assured that the right tool can be available to the right professional at the right time.

Bentley MANAGEservices

With its introduction of MANAGEservices, Bentley builds on a proven track record of online service delivery of its project collaboration software for some of the worlds largest AEC firms and infrastructure owner-operators. MANAGEservices extends Bentleys cloud services reach more comprehensively with customizable service level agreements and innovative, budget-friendly, and predictable commercial models. To enable instant-on provisioning of its industrial-strength work-sharing environment, Bentley is now making available:

ProjectWise MANAGEservices Essentials Template for projects of up to 25 users,
ProjectWise MANAGEservices Enterprise Template for design collaboration and work-share for up to 1,000 users with per user pricing.

In addition, for AEC firms and infrastructure owner-operators wishing to consider the advantages of virtualizing the administration, provisioning, versioning, and technical support of their Bentley software in project and asset IT environments, Bentley MANAGEservices can offer bespoke service level agreements.

With one services provider guaranteeing predefined service levels, users do not have to worry about managing multiple vendor relationships or triaging system outages.

Subscriptions thus represent over three-fourths of our revenues.

With SELECT Open Access, just as weve already done for our largest accounts through the ELS program, we are completing the elimination of application software procurement obstacles to project success for all of our users.

With Bentley CONNECT providing Windows Azure-based cloud services including in-context LEARNservices to each of our subscribers individually, we are very enthusiastic that our new MANAGEservices offering can extend these benefits at the enterprise and server levels to now offer, literally, software as a service, completing our reach.
