Since the introduction of the first Handyscan 3D scanners in 2005, the number of educational institutions using and teaching our 3D measurement technologies has been fast-growing, explains Franois Leclerc, Product Manager, Education. At the beginning of 2013, Creaform has committed on creating a new educational program that would meet the needs of the educational community more closely. This new program is also a way for us to democratize our technologies and make them accessible to the greatest number of students possible, so they can get trained on the latest and most advanced technologies to maximize their chances of a successful career.
New Educational Packages
The new Educational Packages target researchers and educators from various study fields and learning programs such as science and engineering, applied science, industrial styling and design and natural sciences and archaeology.
Each package has been put together and tailored to meet the specific needs of the educational field. For example, the included 5-year maintenance plan will guarantee that the unit remains in optimal working order at all times and access to future software releases. Plus, users can rely on the Creaform Technical Support services for 5 years as part of the plan.
The packages also feature significant discounts on the Creaform technologies (3D scanners, PCMM or optical coordinate measuring system). As such, institutions taking advantage of the new program can actually supply their labs and/or teaching departments with multiples Creaform units for a fraction of the regular list price.
