11th of June, 2013, Brescia, Italy – Gexcel srl is pleased to sponsor the FARO 3D Documentation User Meeting in Strasbourg from 13-14 June. Chief of R&D, Eng. Ph.D Matteo Sgrenzaroli and Sales and Technical Manager, Arch. Giorgia Rossi will present the new gexcel R3 point cloud visualization and sharing platform, and the updated mobile solution applications in two of the sessions.

The newly released gexcel R3 increases Gexcel’s line of advanced analysis products, JRC 3D Reconstructor and Cloud Streaming software gexcel R3Xtream. It is an extremely user friendly tool capable of managing huge 3D point clouds dataset, easily extracts plants, front elevation and profiles. The overall construction of the tower will be monitored employing the gexcel R3 software . Up to now, the gexcel R3 functionalities were accessible only inside JRC 3D Reconstructor. With this newest release, gexcel R3 works as a standalone software without the need for a JRC 3D Reconstructor licence. Visualization and data sharing is implemented through direct internet browser support.

Gexcel Srl also introduces the new mobile mapping camera solution products which allow for the handling of lidar data acquired in mobile data collection mode. By adding very cost effective and high performance camera systems, the capture and integration of visual scenery is synchronized and photo draped onto the lidar point cloud as a post process. Software modules are available for camera calibration, camera and lidar sensor boresighting. A full visual QC workflow to review collected lidar data in synchronization with camera imagery, directly draping the points with multiple camera imagery and other metadata is an integral part of this powerful software tool .
