Geomagic Freeform, the 3D Software Behind the Facial Reconstruction of Richard III

Geomagic, a global company providing 3D technology for digital reality, today announced that the Geomagic Freeform software is the software behind the facial reconstruction of the remains of King Richard III.

Yesterday, researchers confirmed that bones found under a Leicester, UK., parking lot were those of King Richard III, killed in 1485. Today, the facial reconstruction was revealed, to show the world the appearance of the missing Royal.

Geomagic Freeform, in the skillful hands of Professor Caroline Wilkinson, Professor of Craniofacial Identification at the University of Dundee, was used to digitally recreate the face of the king. CT scan data of the skull was placed into Geomagic Freeform for the reconstruction process in 3D.
