Faurecia and Creaform Working on Software Solution for Dummy Positioning

Lvis, Qubec, June 27, 2012 Creaform, leader in portable 3D optical measurement technologies and 3D engineering services, and Faurecia Autositze GmbH announced today that they are working together on a software solution for the measurements and positioning of dummies. In the future, this software solution should be used together with Creaform 3D metrology systems in factories of Faurecia in Germany, France and other countries, but also find application in other industries worldwide.

Creaforms VXtrack dynamic tracking technology allows the creation of individual and customized solutions. The software for dummy positioning, which is currently developed with Faurecia Autositze, will allow simultaneous and real-time measurement of all 3D measurement points necessary for the alignment of dummies before the crash test. This gives in combination with the portable optical 3D measurement systems from Creaform a user-friendly, flexible and mobile solution which additionally saves working hours and increases the accuracy of the measurement in comparison with other systems.

Faurecia Autositze GmbH currently uses the HandyPROBE portable 3D CMM and a MetraSCAN 3D optical CMM scanner to analyze vehicle parts on the crash track. Worldwide Faurecia has various Creaform systems in use.
