Art with a Purpose Event Raises Money for Charity
Hamilton, ON – January 30, 2012: – GeoDigital International, a worldwide leader in corridor and wide area LiDAR mapping is pleased to announce the ILMF 2012 LiDAR as Art contest winners. The contestants who receive the top 3 vote totals in this Art with a Purpose contest have a donation made in their companys name to the charity of their choice. The voting takes place on line and at a designated trade show. A silent auction is held at the trade show, where the art can be purchased, with all proceeds going to the selected charity.
First place in the inaugural ILMF 2012 LiDAR as Art contest goes to Sergio Aguayo from Merrick and Company for his image entitled, Lighting up the Night. The other two finalists were My-Liuh Trouong from Riegl USA, Inc. whose image was entitled Milwaukee Museum of Art, and Phillippe Chantigny a GeoDigital employee who created Floating LiDAR Cities. This ongoing event will run throughout 2012 and will be staged around key LiDAR-related industry events. Submissions are now being accepted for the 2012 American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing ASPRS Annual Conference which takes place March 19 23 in Sacramento, CA.
