Integration Enables MrSID LiDAR Files to be Viewed in MARS Version 6.0
Seattle, Wash. November 17, 2009 LizardTech, a division of Celartem Inc. and a provider of software solutions for managing and distributing geospatial content, announced the integration of its MrSID Generation 4 Decode SDK (MG4 DSDK) into Merrick & Companys MARS (Merrick Advanced Remote Sensing) software application.
With the integration of LizardTechs MG4 Decode SDK, MARS users will be able to efficiently load MrSID files into the application for data visualization purposes. Clients utilizing LizardTechs LiDAR Compressor can convert their LAS point cloud data into compressed MrSID files, which can then be loaded into MARS for visualizing and managing LiDAR terrain datasets. MARS is a robust, production-grade Windows application designed to manage, visualize, process and analyze LiDAR data.
MrSID has been a leading technology for raster imagery, said Bill Emison, MARS product manager. Now that weve integrated MrSID support for LiDAR, were excited to give our customers tools for viewing compressed point cloud data.
LizardTechs product development efforts with LiDAR Compressor have been focused around product integration from the very beginning to ensure that our customers can use our product in as many other applications as possible, said Jon Skiffington, LizardTechs director of marketing. This is an integration that our customers have been waiting for so were pleased to announce that now our customers can easily load point cloud datasets compressed to MrSID Generation 4 into MARS.
