Optech Introduces DASHMap Data Processing Software for the ALTM line of lidar products

Toronto, November 27, 2006 Optech Incorporated is pleased to introduce DASHMap, the latest data processing software development for Optechs Airborne Laser Terrain Mapper (ALTM) product line.

DASHMap is Optechs next generation data processing software for airborne lidar data. With a vastly accelerated data acquisition-to-processing ratio, a simplified user interface with embedded 3D visualization, fully incorporated geodetic transformation and the total elimination of intermediate processing files, DASHMap is the worlds most advanced lidar point processing tool.

Optechs ALTM products, including the latest addition, the ALTM Gemini, continue to set the global standard for airborne laser terrain mapping in accuracy, efficiency and ease of use. ALTM Gemini acquires data in excess of 100,000 pulses per second with innovative features such as intensity output, full waveform digitization, and a capability to measure multiple pulses. Optechs ALTM Gemini is the worlds first Multipulse measurement system with roll compensation and digital camera integration. ALTM products are the worlds premier and most popular airborne lidar solutions.

"DASHMap is a reflection of Optechs continuing commitment to blaze new trails in all facets of the lidar industry, including post-processing," says Brent Gelhar, Director of Optech’s Terrestrial Survey Division. "This core philosophy, coupled with over 30 years of scientific innovation in lidar are the defining reasons why Optech dominates the airborne laser mapping industry. Its not mere coincidence that there are more Optech ALTMs in operation worldwide than any other airborne laser mapping instrument."
